Featured Seller - catldy99 from Etsy

It has been awhile since my most recent seller feature.  I am excited for this one - not only because of the beautiful jewelry you will find in her shop, but also because she is a fellow Oregonian!

catldy99 has been a part of the Etsy community since 2007 and is a true professional.  She was a free lance graphic designer for 20 years and started crafting when she moved to Portland Oregon and then started bead weaving.  She took a class in glass beadmaking and the rest is history.

She has been making glass beads for about 6 or 7 years now - that's right; not just the jewelry, but beads as well!  She is a member of the Portland Bead Society and the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.  I love her nature-inspired pieces and nature is one of her major sources of inspiration.  See more of her amazing work at:

People's Choice!

In a recent blog post, many of you voted on the color of a piece I was going to paint.  I found this cute little shelf and had narrowed down the colors, but couldn't decide which to finally choose.

So you voted and the winner was yellow.  A lot people here and on Twitter commented that they liked the blue too.

So after painting it yellow and feeling like it needed something, I painted all of the edges this cool blue.  Not shabby chic, but definitely cute!  Hope you like it!

It's Party Time - Cupcake Style!

I am a planner, so I am working on finishing details of my daughter's birthday party in June.  I love cupcakes - so cute and delicious.  So that is the theme and I have found some amazing cupcakes items on Etsy to make this Cupcake birthday idea a reality.

Of course you need invitations...

And she'll need something to wear.  I love this little skirt which would be perfect for June and the coordinating hair accessory.

Treats will be cupcakes of course!!  The delicious vegan cupcakes will please everyone!

For activities at the party the kids can play in this great cupcake house and play a cupcake matching game.

I love Etsy because I really value handmade.  So why not make these great crocheted cupcakes as a "thank you" gift to guests!

And of course my little one needs a gift or two...or three.  Matching baker's hat and apron covered in (what else??) cupcakes!  Perfect for making cupcakes!

Or this super cute cupcake house and family!  I can absolutely see her playing with this!

And finally, a gift bag covered in cupcakes for her hiding her present until gift time.

I am so excited for this party and welcome you to put together your own cupcake party - what fun!  If you ask me, we could all use more cupcakes in our lives.

You Choose What Color I Use!

I thought it would be fun for people who like my work to decide what color to paint one of my next pieces.  This is a wooden spice rack that could be used as a display shelf as well.  It is sanded and ready to be painted, so I am leaving the poll to the left open for only a few days.  The three colors I like are: white, yellow, and blue.

To be more specific, the yellow is called "Yellow Poppy" which I would describe as a butter yellow.  The blue is called "Blue Stream" which I would also describe as a bright sky blue.  I do have lighter shades of this blue too.

Feel free to leave a comment, but please vote the color you think I should paint this piece on the survey to the left of this post.  Can't wait to see the results and post pictures when it's done!
